Thank you Michigan ! For making the 48th Annual Meeting a success !

2018 Annual Meeting - The 2018 annual meeting was hosted by Michigan during October 15 - 18, 2018. The location was the Double Tree by Hilton Conference Center in Holland, MI. Eleven of the 12 states were represented at this year's meeting.

The meeting was a big sucess with presentations including open discussions on regulatory issues concerning the nursery industry. There was also an excellent insect and disease workshop presented by University of Michigan Extension. We had excellent presentations concerning spotted lanternfly, Asian longhorned beetle, plant pattens, taxonomic name changes, phyto issues, how to be safe concerning situational awarness on the job, and hemlock wooly adelgid. We also had an excellent tour to see hemlock wooly adelgid and the research on this pest by the University of Michigan, and then we went to see Walter's Gardens and their wholesale greenhouse.

On the lighter side, we also had a lot of fun being nerdy with our insect and disease slideshows after hours in the hospitality room.

The anual meetings and the inspector exchanges during the summer continue to be an invaluable learning experience where members can share knowledge. Thank you to everyone involved in the planning, and thank you to those who gave the excellent presentations that were front and center during the meeting.

The next meeting will be hosted by the state of North Dakota in October of 2019. Be sure to check back here for details as they develop.
